The List, 3/24
By Matt Wilson | Filed Under Miscellaneous
Here’s The List of things we found interesting in the world of sports:
• Want to know where Pacman could end up? Here’s a ESPN.com’s take on where Lewis’s (from the immortal quote: “Lewis had the weed.”) buddy could end up playing next season, barring another mishap. Hey, another mishap ain’t out of the question.
For some reason, Pacman just seems like the kind of guy who would fit the Cowboys. Michael Irvin might have to rebuild the “White House” if Pac shows up.
• The Awful Announcing blog gives out its annoucer grades for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament. I actually really enjoyed Verne Lundquist and Billy Raferty. I’d rather listen to them any day over the utterly soulless, joyless and humorless Billy Packer. Why doesn’t he just wear a button on his shirt that reads, ‘I Hate My Job’ when the game starts?
Well, at least he’ll get a little excited when he broadcasts Duke’s Sweet 16 ga — oh, never mind.
Speaking of which, I know Belmont is still crushed. But at least the Bruins fought to the bitter end. Unlike, you know, another Nashville team.
• Want to see highlights from the Duke-Belmont game — only with stuffed animals and action figures? Then go here.
• At least one team from Nashville will play for a national title. The Trevecca women’s squad beat Freed-Haredman tonight and will play in the NAIA national championship game on Tuesday night.
Barring a huge upset, it’s likely TNU will play No. 1-ranked Union (which is playing at home this tournament) on Tuesday. Ouch. Still, a chance for a legendary performance for the Trojans.
