Football: This n’ that
By Matt Wilson | Filed Under Miscellaneous
Apparently the Vegas bookmakers think a Titans-Giants Super Bowl is a real possibility. That’s not surprising since both are No. 1 seeds. Still, the Giants are favored to repeat as champions and the Steelers have 9-2 odds to get to the big game.
• It looks like former Tennessee defensive coordinator John Chavis will join LSU’s staff. Chavis had some great years at UT, just don’t ask Vols fans about his late-game, prevent defense “Mustang Package.” But it will be interesting to see what he will do with the superior talent he’ll have at LSU year-in, year-out.
• When you think about the Pro Bowl, the words “relevant” or “watchable” don’t ever really come to mind. That may change in 2010. According to a report, the Pro Bowl may be played the week before the Super Bowl. Of course, players from the AFC and NFC title squads wouldn’t participate, but hey, are you watching it now? Of course not.
